"True Karate-do is this:  that in daily life, one's mind and body be trained and developed in a spirit of humility; and that in critical times, one be devoted utterly to the cause of justice."

                                                                Gichin Funakoshi

The philosophy of Jubushikido is found in its name. Ju means Gentle (or Peaceful). A Bushi is a Warrior or Knight. Ki means Spirit. Do mean a Way of Life. So Jubushikido is the A Way of Living that embodies the Spirit of a Gentle (or Peaceful) Warrior (or Knight).

We, of the Jubushikian Budokan, strive to provide a friendly environment where each student can discover the Gentle Warrior within. Our classes are small and family oriented. Our system is sequential and progressive so students can learn at their own pace. Private instruction is available.

It is often asked, "What style do you teach here?" Although Jubushikido is a style in and of itself, it is also a compilation of styles. These include: Kenpo, Shotokan, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido and Chi Tao Kung Fu. We have developed a unique program over the last 30 years that has kept the students interested, but at the same time, is not so over challenging as to cause disinterest.

Jubushikido Budokan Goshin Jitsu Karate structures martial activities into four major divisions: Martial Sport, Martial Art, Martial Science and Martial Way. Students gain physical well-being, a sense of the beauty of moving form, an understanding of the science of movement and a consciousness for the care of their human family and nature.

I invite those interested in the system to make an appoinment for a free individualized instruction.
